    This time of the year, a lot of us are up against sickness, stress, and the elements. It' important to take care of yourself by eating well and getting enough rest, but sometimes you need a little extra help! These three DIY recipes are great in a pinch for yourself or for a friend who's feeling a little under the weather.


    Tension-Easing After-Shower Balm

    1/4 cup dried lavender petals

    1/4 cup dried calendula flowers

    1 cup coconut oil

    1 ounce beeswax

    20 drops lavender essential oil



    Combine the flowers and coconut oil, and place in an oven-proof dish (wish enough room for the oil to melt) into a 300-degree oven right after it has been turned off. Leave the mixture to sit for 3 hours, then strain the oil, squeezing out all of the infused oil. Discard the herbs, add the beeswax, and return to a warm oven long enough to melt the wax. Add the essential oil and stir to combine. Pour into jars and cover with an airtight top.


    Tension-Easing After-Shower Balm

    1 cup raw brown sugar

    1/3 cup coconut oil

    1 tbs powdered cinnamon

    5 drops cinnamon essential oil

    sweet orange essential oil



    Combine the essential oils with the coconut oil, blending until thoroughly combined and add the powdered cinnamon and brown sugar.

    *Not intended for pregnant women or children, and should be thoroughly rinsed off after use. Use with caution and test on skin before applying.


    Congestion-Fighting Vapor Rub

    ¼ cup coconut oil

    20 drops eucalyptus essential oil

    5 drops peppermint essential oil



    Microwave coconut oil in a microwaveable container for 10 seconds and stir until completely melted. Add eucalyptus and peppermint oils and stir well. Pour into a container of your choice and leave to cool and solidify.

    All you have to do is browse a few birthday cards before it becomes really apparent: people have an aversion to getting older! We’re all for age-acquired wisdom and a lifetime of memories to look back on, but we also wouldn’t turn down eternally youthful skin. Luckily, Beauty Aura put together an all natural face mask recipe to keep your skin looking timeless!



    1 egg yolk

    1 table spoon of Beauty Aura Almond Oil

    1 tea spoon of honey

    (Make sure you are not allergic to any of the ingredients!)



    Mix all the ingredients well into a smooth paste. Apply this mask on your face, avoiding eye area, for about 10 minutes and then, rinse with lukewarm water. This face mask will nourish your skin and may giving it slightly “lifting” effect.

    For best results, cleanse your skin before applying a mask. After you apply the mask, lay down with your feet in the air to encourage blood to flow toward your face. Rinse with lukewarm water and voila! People will be asking you for skincare advice in no time.
